I agree 100%! Not the point of my comment. This is all good! Now give us that true Vega that is fully competitive and things will really change...
 
I'm all for a 32c/64T cpu. On the desktop. Crazy to think I'd ever say it but I'd probably buy the 2950x. 16c/32t @4.4ghz is well a very tempting ticket.

it's hard to picture a desktop with that kinda cpu power. The only use for such a cpu in my eyes would be a server. When you can run 4 VM's, each with dedicated nvme sdd, and gpu, Each with 8cores/16threads assigned. Really talking about a whole home solution.
