Thanks for any advice given.

Cheers

Nice system, although I have to say I don't really know that mobo much to comment on it. If you can, go for an ASUS or Abit mobo. You could also save yourself some money and space in your case if you buy CD combo drive (CD burner with DVD-ROM) instead of having the burner and a seperate DVD-ROM drive. The Raptors a good drive for performance, although I might have gone for the 74GB drive, but that's just me looking for more room. But apart from that it looks good.
Luck :)

Thanks :)

I made some changes.

The reason for not going for the 74gig raptor is price, and i am not a fan of partitions :p

The mainboard was recommended over the Abit and the Asus at amdmb.....

-Cheers and thanks

Well if it was reccommended, thats alright. I haven't really had a lot to do with those mobos, so maybe (probably) i'm wrong. That system looks good now too.
Good luck mate.

Well actually i dumped the Raptor.

So now its this

Now thats a great system. What about the vid card? A 6800GT would go great with that system. Apart from that, thats a totally kickass system :) .

Well i already own a 9800 Pro. So no video upgrade for now :D

True, thats like the third time i've said something without thinking today. Looks like the coffee is wearing off. :p
So yes now that i've realised the system is complete, that is a really good system.

Yup :D Sounds like a order to me HEHEH......let Doom3 beginn.

mmmm, thanks for the advice. Just wonder if the school tuckshop has any (i'm posting from my high school)

Say could it be that the members at AMDMB are all unfriendly. My Thread

?!?!?

Well its only 512MB at first. But i think i will profit from the 939 solution longer than from the 754. And the 2x 256 at least gives me dual channel. Right?

As long as the mobo supports dual channel, yes. If you can afford the 939, yeah it does look like the best option for longetivity at the moment. If you want to wait to buy more RAM, well thats fine. Not everything has to be done the moment you buy the system (obviously those at AMDMB think so, but we're more knowledgable ;) ).

Yes it does support DC. Do you think that 512MB is ok for now?

-Cheers

PS: I was once before at AMDMB......and man nothing changed. Stil the same biased fool. I had 3.9GHz Vapochilled P4s already. Even Dual 3.2GHz XEONS.....and look at me now buying an AMD..

The more you try the more you learn and can build your opinions. But i guess they dont think so. Ah well Ill stick with [H] then :D

512MB is perfectly fine. 1GB is good, but 512 is good enough to run everything you need and more.

Yes, wise choice my friend. Even the biased ones give good advice.

I took the KN8 because the new BIOS fixed most OC bugs. And my german buddy got the KN8 over the "magical" 220 bus. He has it at 237.
