AMD has joined the American Business Act on Climate Pledge in a coordination with US corporate climate leaders and the White House Office of Public Engagement. AMD along with the other participating business signatories have pledged their support for a positive, action-oriented outcome at the United Nations Climate Summit negotiations in Paris (Nov 30 - Dec 10), and have created forward-looking corporate goals to help improve climate protection.

In 2015, AMD reached several sustainability milestones. The company announced successful completion of five year environmental goals (2009-2014), achieving 24 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from non-manufacturing sites, 31 percent reduction in global energy use since 2009 and 32 percent reduction in transportation emissions.

In 2009 they were still paying the energy bills at Global Foundries. That's like cutting off a few pounds of fat with a knife and bragging about the weight loss, while you bleed to death.

Omg the office users at nvidia ride shard and turned their monitors off at night...meanwhile, where it REALLY matters (waste stream from the silicon manu and pcb manu) ...nothins changed bro! Merica owes those countrys big for causing global warming to devastate their country. Woop dah woop, maybe these climate fools could take a clue from real conservationists and help rebuild salmon beds or something instead of bully pulpit with no answers.

Holy shit...

What?

I think everyone can agree that AMD needs to concentrate on protecting its own ass first in the next year before worrying about how the planet is going to look 100 years from now.

Shouldn't AMD worry about their GPUs and CPUs consuming way more power than the competition? Every time someone buys and AMD product a kitten suffocates on smog needed to keep it running :(

They can achieve 100% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions if they go out of business.
