AMD Interview

[HardOCP News]

DigiTimes has posted an interview with the director of AMD’s server and workstation division, Patrick Patla. This is part one of a two part interview, the second half of the interview will be published on Friday.

This is the fourth anniversary of the original launch of Opteron and through that period we've been continuing to set major architectural changes in the server space as we launch new products. We were the first with x86-64 and Direct Connect Architecture. First with dual-core. And we'll be the first with native quad-core during mid-this year with the launch of Barcelona.

good read looks like they put some work into improving k8 for quad core. Just wish they would partner with my company instead of intel, our company is providing SOA development kit with benchmarch performance number on intel boxes. Can't wait till they discuss k10 in the next interview.
