I just ordered a Barton M 2600+ which is 2.13ghz @ 1.45V.

AMD could have easily released a 3400+ and possibly a 3600+ Barton.. marketing i understand, and that is fine.

Im just happy im getting a 3600+ for $108.

sorry to burst your bubble, but that is nowhere near a theoretical pr rating of 3600+, in fact, that's not even a 3200+. A 3200+ barton runs at 2167 mhz, and your only runs at 2130 mhz. Amd would have released faster processors if they could.

i understand.. but this is at 1.45v, change that to 1.65v and 2400mhz should be attainable, atleast 2310mhz (3400+). i plan my bartonM to run atleast 2600mhz with the right cooling... that gets a rating of 4000+..

im not complaining that there isnt a 3400/3600+ out there. the reason i think they are doing this just to give their 64bits the lead which is understandable.. but there is no doubt they could release a 3400+ barton if they wanted.

Just so you know, as like how new egg reports the defualt voltage for the 2500 as 1.25v the actual speed of the moble 2600+ is 1.92Ghz. Which is still higher than a m2500+ but not as sweet as a 2.13Ghz @ 1.45v would be, but some have been able to come close to that so you might get lucky and be able to do that ;)
