Any ideas?

Thanks

I have dvi 1 on monitor dvi 2 on HDTV and HDMI is just connected to my Yamaha RX-V667 Receiver.

I want to output just audio via the HDMI port on my graphics card to my receiver. Any ideas?

it does that to me sometimes, I just unplug and plug it in again and the problem is usually solved.

The 5000 and 6000 cards only have the clocks to drive 2 of the dvi/hdmi ports at the same time. Disable one of the DVI monitors and it will work. If you want all three running at once, you need a DP->DVI converter.

Audio drivers are included in the video card drivers. I don't think you can drive audio over it with both DVIs running. Disable one of the DVI monitors and it will work.

Tried it but still nothing. Could it be my hdmi calbe? does it have to be 1.4? i tried another hdmi cable and it gives me the same problem so i dont think its cable related.

are you running 2 DVI + 1 HDMI? if so you can not do that. the HDMI port is shared with one of the DVI ports(cant remember which one exactly) disconnect 1 DVI display if it still doesnt recognize it then plug it back in and disconnect the other one.

both video and audio are shared between the ports so even audio wont work.

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!

Now that i have everything working on the receiver GUI audio signal section it displays:

Format: PCM
Sampling: 192kHz
Channel: 3/2/0.1
Bitrate: ---
Dialogue: ---

Is this correct?

When i play media files from PowerDVD 10 it will change to:

Format: DTS
Sampling: 48kHz
Channel: 3/2/0.1
Bitrate: 1506kbps
Dialogue: 0dB

Why doesnt it change to DTS/DDTrueHD etc when i play then on other media players? is there a way to change other media player settings to not decode audio and send signals straight to receiver?

Thanks

Hi I have exact same problem as host, only that I am not using any DVI connections.

No matter if I plug the HDMI cable from GPU to monitor (which supports 1.3 spec PCM audio), or to my AV receiver (Onkyo TX-SR038) then back to monitor, it always read Cable unplugged. Despite Catalyst control centre being able to detect the monitor in both cases.

Just switched from an NVIDIA card to an AMD card and im still having this issue. Had it working for a bit, but now, no matter what, it says sound is unplugged even through the video is passing through my receiver's HDMI Out, through a HDMI->DVI adapter, and back into the monitor I am typing on now.
