Just wanted to know if this software actually does what it says it does. Its really not a big deal to me, but figured i would test to see if the game record actually worked. It doesn't seem to work for me and was wondering if others actually had it working, or better yet working with bf4 specifically. I don't see any in game osd nor does it seem to do anything when hitting the record button, lol I guess that figures.

So if anyone has had this application actually work, i would like to hear about it. maybe im doing something wrong, but the funny thing about it, even if i set it to record to a certain key and save it still shows the record key as something else than what i just set it to. If it doesn't work i guess ill just uninstall it again since it seems pointless to have an app that doesn't do anything more than marketing hype, for the most part.

Many people have got it working.

it doesnt work with mantle.

dx only.

I actually prefer dx anyway....but mantle is ok as well....hopefully an expert can jump in and tell me what im doing wrong. ;)

Either it doesn't work or im doing something wrong.....i have no doubt somebody here knows...cause at the moment i get no osd, no recording, i guess it works with screenshots, but i don't need it for that...I guess in time will sort this out..maybe it just only works for r9 cards? who knows?

The DVR works fine for me on my main system below, records 1080 @ 60fps using virtually no CPU/GPU resources.

You'll see if it is working on the Raptr homescreen; it says DVR enabled or disabled. A few things to keep in mind is that mantle & crossfire are not supported yet in the first beta.

Also, looking at your screenshot, make sure the hotkeys you are using are not used in the game itself! Cntl-; works fine for me.

For some reason [H] forums ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to link to anything Raptr, but there is useful information there. You'll have to Google it.

edit: ok i think i got it figured out...had to re enable origin in game osd......I had this off because it conflicts with afterburner osd.....i can actually get them both to work if wait to start afterburner until after the game is loaded...otherwise bf4 will never load up

they really need to get it working for mantle and crossfire, i have to continue to use my capture card and it causes tearing in the video to record mantle and use crossfire.

while i did manage to get it to record some videos, i had it set to highest quality but when i went back and watched the videos, it looked terrible, as if its was zoomed in the entire time...i don't know but its a start.

I have no idea why i didn't see the in game osd until i re enabled orgin osd. Maybe one had nothing to do with the other. Its entirely possible that the osd from afterburner was conflicting with the app some how, so in the future i guess i have to use one or the other cause on my system they don't seem to play well together.

They will only conflict if the hotkeys overlap.

just change them.

The only reason i suspected a conflict was because origin osd and afterburner osd will conflict and bf4 maps wouldn't even load. After talking with the dev of afterburner i was able to figure out why i couldn't use his app with bf4 64bit, even though i had it working in the past just fine. Just had to disable origin in game osd and his app worked fine again.

That's not new RTSS, that's new Origin overlay that broken it. And that's not specific to RTSS overlay only, Playclaw overlay is affected as well.

Wonder how much of a pain would it be to use OBS with AMD VCE to record a borderless windowed monitor capture of BF4? You can capture straight to your hard drive.

https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-fork-branch-with-amd-vce-support.13996/

VCE has an upper limit of 1080p60. Trying to record at 2560x1440 is a no go.

Unfortunately OBS only has presets for resizing and none of them are adequate at that resolution. You can choose from 1.25 (won't work, still bigger than 1080p), 1.5, 1.75, 2x shrink, etc, but you can't specify an output resolution. Those of us with 2560x1440 or higher are pretty much screwed unless you want to be left with an odd video resolution.

3686400 / 2073600 = 1.77777

1.75 doesn't work? It's off a tad, but I don't know if it would make that big of a difference.

It's not the area that's being divided by 1.75, it's the width and the height individually.

With 2560x1440, chosing 1.75 yields 1462x822... hence the problem.

Was able to do some recording with fraps...i don't like how the performance drops to 30fps at times or other times 60fps....Im certainly open to suggestions as to best way to record now a days

Picture quality seemed ok, but thats probably has to do with how you tube lowers the bitrate or a setting in handbrake i had wrong....its been years since i last did this

I take it all back...it actually does work quite well...not 100% sure what i did to get it working but it is really impressive of how little performance loss there is even at the highest quality....i don't think my frame rates ever dipped below 60:) Now if i could get it to work even with riva tuner osd that would be nice

I did some test on a few games close to a month ago,it works great.I would like to see crossfire working.

when you tested, did you happen to notice it changes the resolution slightly...i was wondering why the video i uploaded to youtube was not full 1080p....and i got to looking a little closer at the recorded files and the resolution was a little off from my display res.

i will do some more testing and see if it still happens

I did not notice any slight resolution changes when testing.
So I just ran Batman test at 1920x1080 and uploaded it directly from Raptr.
If you want you can check it out and let me know if you think there's any slight changes.
I really can not tell, looks good to me,except Youtube 30FPS thing.

wow...thats were i had it all wrong...i was over complicating it....never occurred to upload it directly from rapter...i was using handbrake to encode it first...my only suggestions to your video is having a fps on screen so people can see how great it works

lol i see now you were running a benchmark doh:D..you video looks super clear and sharp...cant complain at all...definitely seems to work better than old school fraps;)

Pretty impressed with this amd app so far as you don't even have to re encode the file before uploading...almost seems to easy:) although i kinda wonder why it doesn't shrink the file down a bit with h264 compression before uploading....people without super fast internet might get a lot of buffering trying to watch it

What does "save replay" mean? Records for so many seconds and stops? I guess i don't play the kind of games that would be useful in
