AMD Eyefinity Question

From my own research I don't think it is possible to get 1080p 120Hz on single-link - it *IS* possible to get 720p 120Hz on single-link. Sure you could screw around with the driver settings in Windows, but just because it says it is 120Hz doesn't mean it's actually sending out that much data to the monitor. You have the extra problem that a DisplayPort-to-DVI adapter is involved which may become the limiting factor - DisplayPort is more than capable of sending out that much data, but the adapter is not and may be telling the video card/driver "I don't like you in this mode"...

Don't forget to factor in the price of dual-link DVI cables, the vast majority of the DVI cables out there are single-link. I've run into DVI cables with the pins for dual-link but when you use them the are capable of only single-link, so be careful.

Are you planning on using 3D glasses? I'm curious as to what your motivations were for 120Hz given how much trouble it is to drive that framerate at that SLS resolution regardless of how big or how many video cards you plug into your computer. Generally the only way to get the FPS high enough is to play a really old video game or take out so much eyecandy the game resembles "Pong" more than anything else :)

I see, well I'll just screw around until I run out of ideas but my last resort is get a Monoprice adapter + some DL-Cables. I have 1-2 DL-DVI cables right now so I should be fine.

Currently, no. I don't think 3D Glasses are worth it. There was really no motive from the beginning, I just decided I needed three monitors to extend my work load on and perhaps game a little bit. I'm eyeing maybe (2) 7970s later on so it should be alright.
