AMD has announced the expansion of its embedded processor line that includes the new AMD Geode LX 800 and the Sempron 2100+.

The AMD Sempron 2100+ offers fanless system design and incorporates AMD64 technology in a 9W power envelope. This processor will provide particular advantages for designers focused on delivering high performance and functionality in single board computing and embedded client systems and is compatible with the recently announced AMD M690T chipset. Wow, the Geode is 0.9W!

Just swapping the Celeron M to a Pentium M in my laptop would give me more battery life, I can't imagine how much longer the battery would last with a Geode.

Right now at this moment, I'm actually using this AMD Geode. They gave us new Citrix clients at work here. They run WYSE Linux v6, and we connect to the Citrix server running Windows 2003 Server. The little desk client which is about 6'' x 4'' x 1'' barely gets warm. It isn't all that great for doing anything else except word documents and other corporate applications. I tried moving large photos around the screen, and its pretty laggy. I don't know if it is just trying to run off the server or what, but we are on gigabit, so it shouldn't be that big of a problem.

A 9w Sempr0n would probably make for a decently quick, and still low-power Carputer (that should easily be able to run off the 12v). No games (likely), but it could still do pretty much anything else.
