AMD Dual Graphics Help

So, my first foray into dual graphics has been an unmitigated nightmare. 10 hours of uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, having to repair the windows installation because the catalyst removal tool is crap and made the system BSOD (!), the machine forgetting what a 6670 is, and still no dual graphics. Honestly I can't figure out what's wrong with this thing, and since this is a customers machine I'm hoping to find a resolution soon. :( Two guides in particular that I've attempted to follow are the Biostar manual's guide, and the following: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-a8-3850-llano,2975-2.html

Specs are as follows:
AMD 3870k
XFX 6670 1GB
BioStar TA75M+
Patriot G Series ‘Sector 5’ Edition 8GB
Corsair CX 430
Biostar TA75M+

Oh and unlike other motherboard there seems to be no "enable dual graphics" button in the BIOS. Thanks in advance!
 
Ahh, I remember these good ol days....thems be da days befo I realized that the most powerful one card solutions were your best solution.
 
What are you trying to accomplish? Two different monitors, one from the on board GPU and one from your card?
 
Just single monitor from one card, but dual graphics should still work even with a single monitor. GPU-z still reads both the 6550D and 6670 separate even with dual graphics enabled.

I believe thats how its supposed to be when crossfire is enabled. Thats how it is on my HTPC box.
 
I've read it should read as 6690D, but if that's not the case I'll be incredibly happy!
 
I don't think it works like that. You either use the discrete card or the on board. I don't think you can combine their power crossfire style.

Edit: Nevermind, just read up on it. I am out of the AMD CPU loop.
 
In the control panel for the graphics card drivers under performace theres a crossfire setting and you just have to enable it. On my rig i'm using the HDMI out on the motherboard (gigabyte) and not the graphics card. I believe you could use the other but you wont see the bios screen on post or anything till the windows log on screen.

Honestly it was already set and i didnt even have to do anything.. infact i might not even of installed any crossfire drivers other then what was available for my motherboard under there driver downloads. Installed the system and then like a week later got the 2nd card just cause i could heh.
 
I have that enabled, and AMD LLano processors do allow certain cards to be combined with the on board.
 
Well then try some benches or games with it disabled and enabled and you'll notice forsure if its working or not.
 
Kk will do when I get home. Does the indicator mean it's working? I got a "Your score is lower then comparable systems" warning when I ran 3dmark last, and the dual graphics indicator was showing..
 
It should mean its working. Frame rate should be 2x higher then the single card.
