Hardware-Infos, Brightside of News, Fudzilla and Inquirer..these sites tend to release rumours as real news sometimes making things up.
 
eh, I could careless about who releases what first, I am gona wait till they are both out so The prices can drop and I can pick up the best of the best for cheap, thats what matters to me. I've had this 4850 for quite some time and I am ready to finally get the High-End stuff.

We don't know how many ALUs this card has...
Also, the 1200 SP rumor is targeted at the RV870, not the mid-range card we are supposedly seeing here. Until there's some actual reviews benchmarks, that number will remain a rumor anyway.

We did see that 180mm^2 die which is that 1200SP part.

How do you know ? The 1200 SP rumor is...well...just a rumor ? We don't know the SP count just by looking at a die shot and a crappy one at that.

I just read that one. They're saying that TSMC is leaking that info. How can that be so ? What kind of "partnership" is that,. that they are revealing info about NVIDIA's parts ? That's grounds for getting a big lawsuit and losing their biggest customer, so I very much doubt that one. We'll just have to wait and see when the cards are really released.
 
I'm not buying into it this time around. A lot of people made the mistake of spending to get DX10 before anyone else, and look how that turned out.

I'll say that we're going to see 3 or 4 generations of DX11 cards before it becomes widely supported (if even). No sense in getting first in line for the 1st generation. 1st generation cards often have problems which are ironed out in the 2nd gen, so I'd wait until then. I'm sure our GTX285/HD4890/etc. can hold up until then. Of course, it'll be worth the upgrade for some people, but just make sure not to overhype unproven hardware/API.

OR when 3dmark vantage 2010 comes out with dx-11 only sections...people will BUY dx-11 cards just for that.

Because Windows 7 is getting such good reception, DX11 has a much better chance at surviving than DX10 did with Vista.

There's also the fact that DX11 is backward compatible with DX9/10 hardware. The hardware merely can't use the new DX11 features. So it makes developers lives a lot easier than it was with DX10.

Then there's all the performance increase incentives, general computer on GPU which can be used for a lot of tasks in game, and Tessellation which is an even handier feature.

So yeah, it's still going to take a while for adoption, but it is in a MUCH better position than DX10 was.

If it last that long, look at DX10, only 2 generations (HD 2900XT/8800GTX to HD4800/GTX200) series and 1 refresh (HD3800/9800). A pity that DX10 never got maxxed and now were jumping in a new generation of DX11, we're moving back to the late 90's again wooooo.
 
well dx 8 was the same way

geforce 3 and 4, and the FX for nvidia, just 8500 for ati...

Ok, the FX was officially a dx9 card, as long as you didn't run software in dx9. (just like a lot of mid/later dx9 games min was a 9600 or better, or a 6600gt or better.)

While a vaild point that DX11 is irrelevant now, what this new hardware will bring is much more performance, and that's always a good thing. :)
 
I dont use dx10, but I will be buying the first dx11 card out because it will prob be the fastest dx9 card available also. Long live XP.
