AMD 1090t/ Now a FX8150
16GB 1866mhz DDR3
Galaxy GTX460
XFX GT520(PhysX/Display card)
64GB SSD + 3TB HDD
ASUS Xonar Sound card
Windows 7 Ultimate OS on 64GB SSD
I bought a FX8150 to replace a Phenom II 1090T in my AMD server rig. Well I put in the FX8150 and without changing anything else proceeded to boot into windows. When I logged in it froze right when my normal programs would start-up.
After this happening a few times I then proceeded to safe mode. boots fine, I try uninstalling some start-up programs thinking that was the issue as well as drivers no luck.
Well with no idea what's causing it I decided to do a fresh installof windows 7. Once windows 7 was installed, it booted up normal. Went about installing drivers and then updates, restarted to let it finish installing updates, but once I restarted Windows , the same issues appeared. It started freezing upon windows log-in and start up.
I then went through uninstalling windows updates in safe mode with no luck, in the end had to do a system restore. After that it worked fine again... So whats the problem you ask?
Well once I shut down the computer or I restart it the issue appears again. First it freezes on windows log in/welcome, so I restart then a Black screen, restart a third time and it works and boots into windows fine.
No idea what's causing it, I'm thinking its a hardware issue, maybe the CPU? didn't have the problem with the 1090T could it be the CPU?
