All you Radeon owners out there that are planning on playing GTA V should grab the brand new AMD Catalyst 15.4 beta drivers.

This release enables peak driver performance optimization for AMD Radeon™ graphics users in Grand Theft Auto V. This article provides information on the latest posting of the AMD Catalyst™ Software Suite, AMD Catalyst™ 15.4 Beta. This particular software suite updates the AMD Catalyst Display Driver and the AMD Catalyst Control Center. This unified driver has been updated, and is designed to provide enhanced performance and reliability.

How's 15.4 running. I literally jumped from the 14.12's to the 15.3's 5 days ago and haven't had any issues other than the AMD OD(Gfx) occassionally changing the power option on my 280x(factory OC'd @1080MHz) to +20% even though my card doesn't require ANY extra volts for 1080Mhz GPU clock. All that's required to fix that is a simple manual adjustment back to +0%. Still Beta so the unexpected is expected. Are these new drivers worth ANOTHER re-install? Going to load up GTA-V soon and without having crossfire the question of upgrading my software again has landed me @[H].

Probably worth it. It takes 5 minutes to update drivers. I just installed these and haven't had any issues.

Caused my machine to BSOD on startups. Hopefully fixed soon because gta5 is pretty unplayable right now with the older drivers.

Try installing them using DDU first.

Open DDU, reboot into safe mode. Then use DDU to uninstall your drivers and reboot. Then install 15.4 and reboot again. Done.

Worked fine for me, and we have similar systems.

fixed my studdering issue at 1440p with my crossfire 290s' smooth as silk and no issues over here.

Mine runs smooth as butter, load distance all maxed out and every thing on high. Didnt bother with fraps yet, cause i was walking around LS till way late in the AM. My only issue is some weird artifacing in the bottom right corner. Weird.

apparently the artifacing is caused by MSAA for AMD cards. will confirm tonight.

Thanks Rizen. I ended up doing a system restore to before installing the driver then tried it again and it worked fine. Only difference is that I told it to not install raptyr this time.

Using 15.4 drivers, and 2 R9 280's I am seeing better fps with crossfire disabled.

though even with crossfire disabled in CCC for GTA 5 profile, the game still shows combined vram of 6 gigs

crossfire disabled fps 50-70
enabled 40-60

Anyone with a 295x2 and gta 5 having issues with the core clocks wildly fluctuating? I'm loading in the mid 60c range and the core clocks only stay at the default 1018 for literally a few minutes before bouncing around to the 900's and lower, even with the power level at +50.

Nope..my clocks have stayed the same since I updated to the 15.4's.

Even with CrossFire disabled the game still detects that you have two separate video cards installed, so the VRAM usage is mostly still going to be wrong.

Odd that you are seeing worse performance with CrossFire enabled. I would try a complete fresh install using DDU, see the steps I posted earlier in the thread.

Installed the newest driver last night, so far so good!

I only tested the latest driver with FC4 and BF4, going to wait for a price drop on GTAV :D

Star Trek Online was unplayable for me with the new 15.4's and my clocks were screwy iN BF4...

Installed the 14.12's again, back to normal. Will wait for an official release from AMD before updating.

Tested on GTA-V for a day after using the 15.3's 1st and only can say the latter are stabler and render "better" than the former-that being the 15.4's... Aside from the vehicles seeming a bit less smooth while passing by my viewpoint(1st and 3rd persons) this driver caused a few hangs during loading. Also had a few random blackscreens transitioning between game modes and benchmarking. IDK what' causes these issues on my system and honestly dont care because the 15.3 ran it beautifully so ill be going back to those now. One thing i noticed using the 15.4's was that my cpu useage was 18-24% lower than w/the 15.3's maxing out at around 72'ish% compare to the 89-94% under 15.3. Wont be changing for quite a while.

M4A89TD PRO Mobo/12GB 1600MHz DDr3 CL8/FX-8350 @4.414GHz(61c MAX Load)/SS Hybrid 750GB HDD/XfX 280x @1080/1550(Stock)

Max FPS on both drivers 60 because I use Vsync for GTA. However my Min FPS were 8-10 frames better using the 15.3's ranging from 38.6-46.1

GTA Settings: All very high except Grass, Water, &Ambient Occlusion Qual.: High/Shadows(Normal)[Soft Shadows: AMD CHS]/ MSAA: OFF(this setting makes GTA choppy as all hell)FXAA: OFF(those seem to just make my gfx blur more than anything anyway...)/ all SLIDER values MAXED/ Long Shadows: Off/Anistropic x16

Something new with these. My main display just goes black after startup. The only way I can get it back is to reboot or pull the power to the display and reconnect. :(

This happen to me too. IDK what's the problem. I also get hangup while playing GTA as well and have to manually reset. The second time installing this driver my screens just dimmed themselves and goes back to full brightness only for a little bit. I came from omega and use DDU as well.

Edit* So the dimming only happen to GTA. IT's okay on windowed but when I switch to fullscreen. My two displays would set the brightness to a lower setting. I tried changing it on CCC but it doesn't do anything. I guess I'm going back to the old driver.

I have a similar issue but its since Omega... sometimes when im restarting my machine the GPU will not boot.. so immediately i receive from my screen "no signal detected".. and when it success to work after restart the card its recognized as HD7970 and all become buggy.. so normally when i want to restart I have to just turn off the machine and then turn on.. but its nothing to worry about..
