AMD Catalyst 14.9 Driver for Windows & Linux out now

Oh, good to know I'm not the only one having trouble installing these drivers. Out of 4 installs, 2 just refused to install and I had to use system restores to get going again. Been a long time since I've had this kind of trouble.

Report was sent, I'll be waiting on a fix.

what kind of problems did you have? i've installed across my machines with AMD cards no issues to install..

My crossfire laptop had a hard crash, and would get to windows and freeze. Had to use a restore point to get it back working.

The other was my crossfire 280x system, no hard crash, just failed to install drivers. Was going to do a complete driver wipe when I read about the issues here. I'll just wait.

My single card systems had no issues, maybe related, maybe not. Hard to say.

Moving to Texas is that a culture shock coming from California?
 
This has somewhat improved matters, I suppose. Now instead of the PC rebooting I just have to put up with regular screen flickers and 'display driver stopped responding and has recovered' messages. Would still rather have a stable card though...

And these are WHQL drivers? Oh my, AMD is really dropping the ball on this one.
 
The funny thing is, the issues listed in that bulletin are about the only problems I don't have with this driver...
 
This driver makes my system go unresponsive when I leave it alone for awhile, monitor goes asleep and I try to wake it up. I get the black screen of nothing with my HD7970. Going back to the 14.4's which have been rock solid.
 
Other than being slow to come out of sleep these drivers are working OK for me.
