This is what sold me on the 7970s initially and is no where to be found.

This section provides information on resolved known issues in this release of the AMD Catalyst 12.3 software suite for Windows 7. These include:

AMD Catalyst Control Center startup issues/ delays have been resolved
Tom Clancy HAWX: No longer crashes after task switching with MLAA (Morphological Anti-Aliasing) and Anti-Aliasing enabled
Furmark Benchmark: No longer crashes when launched in High Performance mode.
Quake 4: No longer display corruption after task switching when run in High Performance mode
XPlane: Textures no longer exhibit flicker and corruption
Skyrim: No longer displays flickering and texture corruption.
Alan Wake: A system crash is no longer experienced when running the game in DirectX 9 mode with Crossfire enabled
Far Cry 2: A random system hang is no longer experienced when running the game at high in game setting

ooh they fixed Skyrim

What have happend with the MLAA? it worked fine in 8.95.5, and now my fps is crap in BF3 when activated.

MLAA ON: 65fps
MLAA OFF: 85fps

Still horrible screen tearing on Crossfire in BF3 also..

as soon as i up dated my drivers for my crossfire 6950's my second card is now almost 10 degrees hotter then my top card. Wtf?

+ real temp gt is showing my second card temp in tray instead of my first card.

now my card temps are jumping all over the place from 47c - 52c and back down again just idling

i cranked up both my fans to 75% and both cards now wont go under 55c idle and its cold as a witchs titty in my room. never had a heat problem until now with 12.3

Didn't they have the new MLAA 2.0 code in the 12.3 betas?

dont know, but its NOT in the 12.3 WHQL..

im now at the 12.4 Beta.

so if you want MLAA, then use 8.95.5 or 12.4 Beta.

Sounds like there are some issues. Guess I'll just stick with 12.2 Gotta have my BF3 performance ha.

I'm still running the RC11 and am perfectly happy with them. Even when I was running a pair of 7970's they worked fine. I have not seen anything in any of the later drivers that have made me wanna jump ship.

Well, the 8.95.5 and 12.4 is just as good as the RC11 in BF3, and you get MLAA almost without any performance loss in 8.95.5 and the 12.4.

This 12.3 looks pretty benign...........nothing to see here.;)

Hows MLAA compare to 4xMSAA + Post High in BF3? I abhor jaggies and white dots. Is MLAA activated in game or do you set it in a CCC profile?

Run MSAA WITH the MLAA, you can run both without any performance loss, almost (maybe 1-3% loss, i didnt notice any in BF3)

i run 2XMSAA+MLAA and Post High in BF3.

to active MLAA, go to Gaming-->3d Application Settings and tick the Morphological Filtering box.

Are you getting screen tearing with any driver/setting?

Had screentearing with all the drivers i have tried..

I hope AMD fix this. this is not a problem on the GTX 680 SLi.

weird I didn't have that problem with my 6970, dual 6970's or dual 6770. 7970 comes tomorrow.

i don't have a problem with screen tearing in BF3 6870's crossfire.
4xmsaa, ultra, 1920x1080

running 1080p, cannot run 5760x1080 very well, so i just play on single monitor for now. Well until my 7870's get here.

Ugh. Is anyone else having their system crank the GPU when idling at the desktop with the 12.3's? I've got a pair of modded 6950's in CFX with a 3 screen 5760x1080 setup. This never happened with the previous drivers.

Never mind, figured it out. New 12.3's apparently crank up to 3D clocks if you're running a VirtualBox guest machine that has 3D acceleration enabled.

Are you going to post this in every AMD thread?
Turn on V-Sync...........or buy a 680.

Really wish they would make plp work.

As I have mentioned repeatedly here in the forums, I would not expect mixed monitor resolutions or PLP for Eyefinity any time soon if ever. Not really sure where that rumor started, but you were misinformed. If it came from AMD, I would like to know from who so I could follow up.

Dynamic Configuration Changes: Design to switch between different display configurations automatically when physically plugging/un-plugging displays

Doesn't that just mean if you plug in a 3rd monitor it will go in mode X for eyefinity gaming, remove it goes back to mode y that won't expand games across 2 monitors etc.

Only how many months late?

And people still think AMD's driver team is as good as Nvidias....
What? the issue exists for Nvidia cards too.

Wasn't mixed resolution touted for release in EyeFinity 2.0???

Feature highlights of the AMD Catalyst™ 12.2 driver:

•AMD Eyefinity 2.1 technology enhancements
•Additional resolution support: Users can now choose from a larger set of resolutions when running AMD Eyefinity
•Dynamic Configuration Changes: Design to switch between different display configurations automatically when physically plugging/un-plugging displays
2 different things, they are talking about same resolution monitors of different sizes, not mixed resolution monitors, the extra resolutions are resolutions between the max (say 3600x1920) and minimum (say 800x600) they have added custom resolutions that you can set manually and additional resolutions you can add that games will pick up.

I'm running a 6990 and a 2011 on a P9 Asus board. With Futuremark 06, using 12.2, I was getting 35k. With the 12.3 I now get 32k. (12x10) Clean installs.

I thought people were complaining for a while there is no official 7xxx driver, this one is the official driver for it, curious why it's not mentioned

no it was a rumor started by some one on the forum here and it went viral.. there was never any proof that AMD was going to add PLP or mixed resolutions. either way the problem isn't AMD supporting it, its the game developers that have to add the support into the game for it to work.

because no one cares, if it doesn't reflect badly on AMD then people ignore it, been this way for years.

The second paragraph of my post comes directly from the AMD KB.

The latest drivers DO support mixed resolutions, however I've never seen it anywhere where L-P-L is supported.
