Anyone confirm if the idle clocks bug got fixed? Not mentioned in release notes and the BETA8's are running fine for me except the idle clock thingy so I'm not horribly motivated to move unless it's addressed.
So it looks like ONCE AGAIN, even on an AMD supported title, we see a driver released by AMD for a new AAA game with no optimized Crossfire drivers.

So it looks like ONCE AGAIN, even on an AMD supported title, we see a driver released by AMD for a new AAA game with no optimized Crossfire drivers.

Frequent beta driver releases is not supporting their product? I guess we have different definitions of support.
It's foolish to assume you should be getting more performance than you're getting. The game runs fine for me. They couldn't have possibly designed the card specifically for a game that was developed AFTER the hardware release. They're doing the best they can to bring little improvements here and there. Also, multi-card solutions are inherently more difficult than single cards. You HAD to know that going in.
Take the drivers or leave them. At least it's something. They could make you wait for a final WHQL driver, which would take even longer.
As far as that fuel efficiency argument you brought up from nowhere: I didn't post in here complaining that I'm not getting 20,000 miles to the gallon. I have realistic expectations from my vehicle. I know what I paid for, and I don't cry foul because I'm not getting more than what I was promised.

Well i don't have a SLI setup but it seems that UBI changed the EXE file name so the latest beta don't recognise game for SLI, you need to edit the EXE with Ninspector and put the good one, once it's done it works, but it's not user friendly at all..

DO install the CAP, even if you only have a single-GPU, it does and can affect single-GPU performance as well as multi-GPU performance. In this case of FarCry 3, DO install the CAP, even if you have a single-GPU.
will hardocp be doing a Farcry 3 graphics and performance review. this game is really killing all the high end cards with 4X MSAA at max settings even at 1080p.
I'm not asking for more performance.
I'm not being unrealistic.
All I'm asking for is a driver to be released on day one for a new game that AMD sponsored, that supports not only single card use but CrossfireX and EyeFinity.
If you recall these two features are marquee items for AMD, and they should be adequately supported on new releases.
It has nothing to do with the age of the hardware or performance, it's basic functionality.
just installed them yesterday and they seem to be stable so far. I'm still waiting on a dvi to hdmi cable to connect the 3rd monitor, but I've played bf3 a couple times and they seem to be good. I got a 7870 with the farcry 3 bundle but I'm waiting for Christmas to try it out. Hopefully whatever kinks are in the game get solved. Isn't it not officially released until today anyways?

This is news to me....
It is news to a lot of people, I think CAPs have been poorly explained in the past. They can, and do, affect single-GPU performance. Not all the time, but there are some games that they do affect, I've seen it in the past, and FarCry 3 is one of those games, so install it.

If CAP is going to be required for single GPU setups, AMD needs to get off their ass and have the driver automatically download and apply the latest CAP files. Since that piece of shit CCC application can load ads without a problem, it can surely download new CAP files as well.
They have always been recomended for single gpu use..
There are caps in the drivers.
The individual caps are developed independant of the drivers, packaging them together would be worthless, as there would be a new version as soon as the drivers were released still requiring a new download.
They are also updated in bewteen driver releases, still requiring a second download.

These beta drivers seem to cause a hang when playing WOW. Anyone else experiencing the same problem? To stop the random hang ups when playing WOW I had to revert back to 12.10 certs. I have not tried beta 11 yet.
Aside from the WOW issue, all in all the 12.11 betas seems solid and delivering as advertised. I will give beta 11 a go this weekend especially with Far Cry 3.

I think that stems from the misconception where people think the "C" in CAP stands for CrossFire and not Catalyst, so they assume that profiles are just for multi-card setups, like with Nvidia's SLI profiles.
