AMD based laptop suggestions

Hi. I'm going to be in the market for a laptop (school work/video editing/music/light gaming), and could use a suggestion or two.
 
What are you willing to spend? What weight do you want it to be and what light gaming are you going to do? The problem is, if you can find a good AMD based laptop, it will not be cheap and may not be lightweight either. As much as it pains me to say this, you will probably be better served with an i7 based laptop and lower end Nvidia discreet card in a laptop package. (No Asus though, my professional experience is that they die an early death.)
 
I concur with ManofGod's opinion. While AMD has manufactured some interesting APUs that should be powering a laptop for what you want to do, none of the manufacturers really picked up on any of them. The designs that do exist either cost just as much as an Intel-based laptop with a lower-end nVidia discrete card or suffer from poor design on the part of the manufacturer (single-channel RAM only, crap battery, bulky chassis, etc). I would also avoid ASUS at the low end (read inexpensive) because they do tend to cut a lot of corners to bring the price down, just like every other major manufacturer.

Since you were looking specifically for a product recommendation, I did find this one: HP - ENVY m6-p114dx 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - AMD FX - 6GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Natural silver though it may no longer be available and would obviously benefit from an upgraded storage subsystem (swap the HDD for an SSD and toss the HDD in an external enclosure for bulk storage).
