I go into the softmenu of my mobo, (abid kd-7) and throw the fsb to 200 and the multipliers at 11, and start to boot and i get a memory dump error...........right now im at 190x11 which is 2094 mhz...........what should i do to get this thing up to 3200+ speeds, Im on stock cooling, but ive read countless threads where people are up there on stock cooling because supposedly the cooling on the barton is decent

i get the dump error after i start logging into windows, also my memory is buffalo 400 ddr, but its only running at 333.....how do i fix that?

I had a problem where windows would not load when I went to 200 mhz. I upped my cpu voltage to 1.85 and it is working great so far.

try loosening up the latencys and pump a lil more voltage to the vdimm that might help it, does your board suport 200fsb?

its an abit kd-7. which advertises 400 ddr support, but not with 333 processors, which means overclock to compensate

just looked up the mobo didnt see anything saying it suports 400fsb just 333. you will need a working 1/6 divider to keep the agp/pci busses in spec, maybe abit put out a bios for 400fsb suport

hmmm, im fairly new at overclocking, thinking im gonna leave it at its current setting 190x11=2094 mhz, till i read some more, i added you to my aim list so i can pick your brain occasionally, hope you dont mind, btw, nice to see some other alabama peeps here

i dont know about ur mobo but on mine, when i get the FSB to 200 (ram in sync w/ FSB) bios says its running at DDR400
so just OC ur comp till it gets there
try upping Vdimm a little also

the KD7 will NOT do 400mhz FSB unless your hard drives and shit can handle it...I own a KD7-RAID and there is only a 1/5 divisor..i can do 200mhz but my drives corrupt. I can hit 190mhz but my NIC transmits bad data...for me 177 or FSB is the best ive found.
also the only way your ram will see 400mhz is if you go to 266FSB then itll let you use 400mhz on the ram. once you hit the 5/1 it locks everything together...atleast on mine it does

exactly right.. i have a kd7-raid and it only has the 1/5th divider.. which makes 200 fsb way outta spec.. its impossible without at least an nforce2 board

for anyone having this problem, i've had a similar one. i think what you'r talking about is the BSOD (blue screen of death).
what u need to do is change the vcore to 1.8v, change the fsb to 200 and for xp 3200 speeds set the multiplier to 11. though, i don't know if i'd go with the 3200 speeds with stock cooling, i'd set it to about 10.
