i have a amd anthlon 64x2 4600+ with a 8800 gt superclock vid card, with 3 gigs of ram and i have been having issues with call of duty 4 muilti player. specifically it lags or slows down when an air strick is called in. is that a sign that the processors are bottlenecking or what? also is it time for an upgrade processor wise??? some1 plzzz reply to this threat, no1 in video card forum will.

thanjks

What settings/resolution are you playing the game at? Also, what is your connection speed (internet/LAN/etc)?

the res is lowest 1024, and i am using a 19inch monitor. my internet is 15 megabits vai cable and my ping is usually in the 40-50 range. i have the game set on what it says are optimal settings for the computer, i really don't get the bi-tri-linear settings or anti-aliasing so i just roll with the optimal settings since i don't know what it means.

thanks guys

Try turning down AA and AO to 2x or 4x to see if that makes a difference.

You should see a good deal of a performance increase.

I'm suprised that that resolution would cause so much slow down, even at max settings.

Your network adapter could be crapping out. Do you use a wireless connection (USB, PCI, etc.) or ethernet (USB, PCI, integrated, etc.)?

If you are on wireless, I'm not suprised as many 802.11b/g adapters will give that stuttering problem since they just can't keep up with everything that is happening over the network.

If you are on an ethernet connection and it is doing this, try changing out to another one. It could be that your card is dieing or something may be wrong with it.

...your welcome. Have fun with that broken ass machine of yours.
