AMD 7950 Interesting HDMI problem

This card has one DVI port, One HDMI and two mini display ports. If I don't have anything plugged into the DVI port on the back of the card, no video from anything plugged into the card.

As long as there is one monitor plugged into the DVI port from a DVI port (even if the cable is HDMI and converted using DVI converters, things work. If I plug the ASUS monitor directly into the 7950's HDMI port from the ASUS's HDMI port, using that same HDMI cable, nothing.

ASUS-->HDMI-->HDMI Cable-->7950 HDMI input = no video.

ASUS-->HDMI-->DVI Converter-->HDMI Cable-->DVIConveter-->7950 DVI input = video ok

Put another way, using the same HDMI cable, no video when using the monitor's and the 7950's HDMI ports. Convert the same cable using HDMI to DVI converters on both ends, video ok.
 
I hate to ask an obvious question, but did you manually select HDMI as your input on the monitor?

Just after I bumped this I had an epiphany to see if my OSD had an option for HDMI, and it did. So yeah, that was the problem, and I'm an idiot.
 
Those are the best fixes tho. I think we all go that at one time or another. :)
