AMD 6950 vs. Nvidia CUDA with Photoshop?

In trying to decide upon the video card (MUCH harder than I thought) for a new computer build after several years, there has been some information that CUDA in Nvidia cards can substantially boost the rate of processing in Photoshop.

Does anyone know IF this is that significant compared to an AMD 6950 card that obviously does not have CUDA?

Yep -- strange question, but my main pursuit with my computer is the digital darkroom and the videocard will go with a new Z68 board.

Any thoughts on this odd subject?

I cant comment on video, but no graphics card has made any difference with Photoshop and photography editing for me. The biggest bang for the buck for me was an i7-2600k overclocked. I run 2x 6950, but I game also. If I only did photo processing, I would get a cheap graphics card with a decent amount of memory for my two large monitors.
