690G boards are having huge problems with Vista64bit and 4gb ram or more.
The only board that do work is
MSI K9AG NEO2-Digital
It works with 4gb with no hack at all, and 8gb with the msconfig hack.
I have personally tested both Gigabyte MBs, a ASUS MB (the two models are pretty much identical) and the MSI board.
The web is full of users who cannot get their 690g board to use 4GB. The only working rigg I have heard of is the MSI one. Since the MSI rigg works, the drivers are not at fault, nor the 690G.
The Gigabyte ATX board works with 4gb if the msconfig hack is used, but you can forget about 8gb. Support from Gigabyte on the issue is a down right scandal, do not expect help from them. (Ever heard of denial or complete silence?)
