AMD 6850 2D clocks stuck?

When switching out of 2D mode to 3D mode, it often stays in 2D clock settings (300/300mhz)

Any idea of a fix?

I have had this issue with every driver since 11.2 (first installed driver) Currently on 11.5a

I am in CrossfireX configuration atm (does it with a single GPU too)

Your card down clocks when video acceleration is active. This is likely causing the problem.

So the only fix to this is to either

A) Exit out of web browsers
B) Disable video acceleraiton in flash

just disable hardware acceleration.


although on my 6870 has no problem scaling the clocks. You can also disable the power management as well and that will fix it.

trix the sapphire OC tool allows to lock in the core and memory settings as well.

the trixx software locks up ever since I added a second card.

Same with me, instant freeze on launch.

the nonsense with their hardware acceleration, flash, 3d and 2d clocks, made me give up my card and move back to nvidia
