Calling all [H]arders........

Dewds!
I need advice. I'm an Intel idiot so I can't help out my friend.
He is building an AMD system I need to know what is better so any and all advice is welcome.

HIS CURRENT PLAN::
Athlon 64 3400
ASUS K8N-E DLX
Kingston HyperX PC3700 (cas 3)
+ the usual crap

MY SUGGESTION:
ASUS A8V Deluxe (rev 2)
AMD 64 3500+
Corsair 1024MB PC-4000 TWIN-X PRO Dual Channel Kit
-OR- 1024MB PC-3200LLPRO TWIN-X Dual Channel
---As I said I'm an Intel guy so I don't know which memory would serve him best

My friend isn't [H]ard yet but he's my friend and I'm trying to turn him on to the OC scene.
He WON"T be going to extreem cooling so its stock HSF !
I want to suggest something that will be nice and quick with a decent OC and it's up to you'all to tell me :)

Outside possibility:
Athlon 64 3000+ (based on Kyles article of June 17, 2004)
ASUS K8N-E DLX
...nut I'm afraid that OC'ing this CPU may requier a HSF upgrade that my friend won't want to do.
