Is the installation of the AMD 64 Processor and Heatsink the same as the Installation of a Socket A concerning the Thermal Paste put a thin layer on both the processor and the Heatsink? Thank You

No, put a tiny blob in the middle of the heatspreader, and set the heatsink on. We're talking a blob about the size of a grain of white rice.
 
There should be a walkthrough with pictures about that.. A lot of people (Including me) get a little bit scared when they do that for the 1st time..
