Right..

I'm a first-time builder, and following the instructions in the manual to install my mobo and cpu, I became lost. It says to install a backplate on the backside of the mobo, but no backplate came with my processor. What's the deal?

Mobo: MSI K8N Neo Platinum
 
What CPU fan are you using, and does your mobo have a little black base for the hsf to sit on?
 
From what I have read it is already on the back of your mobo. Isn't there some plastic or metal bracket on the back of your mobo behind the processor socket?
