Sorry for the totally newbie questions but this is my first build and my first amd experience. I purchased the retail 3500+ winnie from zzf and was wondering if the grey square in the middle of the heat sink fan is the thermal pad? Do I need to purchase separate thermal paste and apply it there or is the pad suppose to be the stock cooling?

Thanks

the thermal pad is the stock cooling and will work fine if you don't plan on overclocking. Using artic silver or other brands of thermal paste will void your warranty (as will overclocking)
