So it's basically a 7950?
With a MSRP of $250 it will probably sell for $450 given current pricing...
... which is honestly disappointing because $250 is the current pricing for most R9 270X cards. An overpriced one, yes. $250 for a card that's now over two-years-old... But hey - thanks to mining, it'll be even higher.
Why do these shitposts pop up in every thread?I'm so glad I splurged and bought crossfire 290's when they first hit the streets (reference models)
$399 free shipping no taxes each
Kinda funny looking back, all the people who were waiting for the non reference models to pop up... tee hee.
But the reference 290 is more like a 285 considering the insufficient cooling and throttling.

+1 A lot of people don't realize that.In my Silverstone RV03B-W case the cards would vent out of the top. So reference cards would be ideal for me. Aftermarket coolers that dissipate the heat into the case are counterproductive to the design of my case.
That can be said true for any video card out there with terrible case cooling.
I hope AMD come to their senses and make a ~$300-350 GCN 1.1 Mantle capable R9 280. If they want to push Mantle they need to offer more cards than just high end R9 290/290X that support it.
