I don't know if this is a noob question or not.

But I noticed from a lot of specs you guys put out there, a lot of you that own AMD's have the +2500 OCed to 3200 (AMD series wise).

On New Egg the difference in price between both procs is $120 ($85 - $207 or so).

Questions are: 1) Is it not worth getting a +3200? 2) And if one did own a +3200 can't it be OCed even higher? 3) Does anyone have a +3200 OCed, and if so, to what?

Or is it just a budget thing?

It is a good value for money thing, but it is unlikely you would be able to OC a 3200 much higher than you can OC a 2500. So there is not much point in getting a XP3200.

As you can see on that page, most people max out around 2.4-2.5, a Barton 2500 or 2600 can easily get to 2.3 or if you have really good cooling 2.4 or 2.5. So better to spend 85-100 dollars on a barton 2500 or 2600 then buy a 3200. Just have a good cooler.

I can push 3200+ speeds without even trying on my 2500+

This is even in my Shuttle SN41G2. Make sure you have good memory though.

I would say save the money and stick with the 2500+. You can use the money and get some more memory or something.

I'm doing 11x200 with stock voltage on my 2500+. I'm going to order a good fan soon from newegg and take this to 11x220 - that's my goal.
