I just got an email confirming that when my prime renews is July the rate is increasing from $79 to $99.
My rate increases in July 2014. So check your renewal dates!

I shop on amazon a lot so I feel like the discounted prices I get probably even out the membership fee. If I had to order more in order to get free shipping or wait around until I have several things to order together then I'll probably end up spending that much more anyway.

It's just harder to part with it all at once.

I will probably still come out ahead but not sure. Its probably still worth it but it pisses me off

I'm sorry. Mod please delete this thread :)

I'm new here so i can't see that page
andrehoban, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Use an @*.edu... it's only $49 that way. I easily would blow thru $49 in shipping a year. Plus I get Amazon Prime Instance Video which is nice... since I don't subscribe to Netflix.

I'm definitely canceling my Amazon Prime before its next renewal. I'm getting tired of getting things after 4-5 days on average after choosing 2 day free shipping. It's like they did 2 days shipping properly when I first got my intro period of Amazon Prime and then they just started half-assing it and doing whatever they wanted to. It just really came to my attention when I ordered an NZXT fan controller from Amazon LCC (ie from them, not a "fulfilled by"). Odered it yesterday (earlier in the day yesterday, while I was at work). Estimated delivery: Tuesday.

That's not really 2 day shipping mates. You have the rest of Friday, Saturday, early Monday to get it to me by at least Monday. Nope, Tuesday. And they used to do that, but I've looked through my order history, and the number of times they've gotten it to me in 2 days from the order date is looking like the exception rather than the standard.

Another case: Ordered Feb 10th. Delivered Feb 17th. Right after that: ordered Feb 21st. Delivered Feb 25th (ie just like what this one is estimated to be. Ordered Friday, Tuesday estimated).

These delivery times aren't any better than what they were before I even got Prime. I also don't need the friggin movie rental crap because they don't have much anime anyway. I want that, I can go for Crunchyroll. If I'm going to have to wait this long anyway, this service is pretty pointless. A few more days on each order is worth not paying 100$ a year. Which isn't always the case, even; ironically before I even got Amazon Prime I used to get things within ONE day from other retailers on Amazon.
