hi
i would like to put a 35watt am2 x2 cpu in my media center, but i cannot find one anywhere, does anybody know why they are so hard to find.

Apparently all the big OEM's (HP, Dell) are sucking up the 35w versions of the 3800's for their own media center products!

I'd defnitley be interested in a 35 watter.

I know, but it sucks for us enthusiasts, i have looked all over and cannot find one....

Well you can always look on the bright side. AMD will soon transition to 65nm, thus being able to produce more chips with less power consumption and BETTER SUPPLY.

There are still a few 65 watt units floating around, supprising how cool they run :)

wouldn't be nice if 4 cores CPU runs at 25w? If that happens, I will upgrade right away.

Well i think i am going with the 3800 x2 65w with a Thermalright SI-128 in my media center with no active fan on the cpu.

A 4$ yate loon from jab-tech would, at 5v, be really worth your while.

TOTALLY silent, and just enough to help with the temperatures.

i got my 3800+ 65w chip installed in the htpc, one word, wow, it is so nice, i have a thermalright si-128 on it with no fan running at 30c idle, 56c load..... I think this is really going to help on power bills and heat in the room....
