So my asus rampage iv, i7 3930k, and third 680 came in and i just got done building it.

Im wanting to overclock to 4.2ghz but i dont know if i should push my powersupply.

I currently have a corsair hx 850

my system
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
I7 3930k
Three 4gb 680 gtx ftw
Three sticks of 4gb gskill ddr 1333
One 7200rpm 1tb hd and one dvd burner

i have 7 fans, not including psu and gpu fans, 5 case and 2 for the cpu heatsink.
4 fans are plugged into the mobo, 3 into the psu.

am i safe with this psu or should i wait and get a +1000w?

Perfectly safe. You have a 750w system there. You don't need to upgrade.

I don't think people realize that the 3930k's pull over 200w alone at above 4.2 once you break 1.35V.

Either way, you will be above 850W recommended if you max everything out once u factor in capacitor degradation. Will it still run? Probably.
