Ok, so in EM3, where it shows how many points you should be getting for that protein, it just says "Unk". What the hell does that mean, and how do i fix it so it show points? Thanks.
 
EMIII just tracks the client.... it has nothing to do with Stanford's scoring..... That being said, you should go to www.em-dc.com and download the latest protein file....

Have you turned in some points?

Or are you just concerned about what EM3 is showing?
 
EMIII just doesnt know the value of that protein, you'll still get your points when turned in. Even an up to date EMIII might not know the latest ones.
 
Yea, i looked it up and i am getting points. I just did not know what this "Unk" was. Anyone know?
 
"Unk" means unknown (to EMIII).... if you update your protein data file from the address I linked to earlier, it should update to the correct point value the next time it refreshes (usually at the finish of a %).... Of course, LPerry (the author) is a one-man show for all I know, and could've overlooked a protein from the summary page.... but I haven't seen it happen in the 3+ years I've been running the program

i get that frequently (mostly on my mac borgs). Its nuthin to worry about. Chances are you can look up the protien point value on standford's site if you cant wait (thats what we had to do before em3 :))

i also found that double-clicking on the little computer icon will make em3 re-read what it reads (great for when there is a network problem)
 
Even the latest EMIII protein file misses some of the most recent proteins, like the 3040, which my home boxen is getting one after another. They're 186 pointers, btw.
