my psu is a hiper type-r 730w http://www.hipergroup.com/English/products/hpu-4s730.html
however its kinda annoying me. The contents has an overwhelming amount of ex-tender leads (shown on website) but in the manual it says only 3 connectors per 'Line' from the psu. There's 4 modular 'lines' which means i can only have 12 devices. Is this just hiper being careful as on most psu's they have about 4-5 connectors on each line. I want to connect 4 to one line on it i would have: fan controller (with pass through from pump) and 3 HDD's (SATA). would this be too much? i dont think it would and it would mean i could remove a line and tidy my case.
Thanks

They're riding th fine line between cable management and clutter.

YOU think you'll have a cleaner case if each cable had more connectors. Then you'd have less cables going to your drives and therefore a cleaner look.

But the flipside is someone with only two drives up and two drives down (a very typical set up) and needing to hide away more than one unused connector per cable run.

I would prefer more cables and less connectors because it's not a big deal to zip tie cables that are going to the same local together as opposed to tucking away unused connectors.

what? each line has a single molex on it, then in the box you get ex-tender leads to add to this. ie 1 molex becomes 2 then add another you get 3. so going back to my original question...

What?

Each line only has one Molex on it? I hadn't seen that. Sorry.

Confused because in your post you said there were three connectors per "line."

yeah sorry, three connectors MAX per line, according to the manual. but i think 12 connectors over all for a 730w psu is a bit low so do you think more will be ok?

I didn't realize it was such a hideous design.

Buy another PSU? :(
