cpu : new AthlonXPm 2500+ @ 2400Mhz 12x200 1.75v
hs : thermalright slk800u
fan : Tt smartfan II @ ~8000rpm

i am getting idle temps of ~51c and load temps of ~67c.
the fan is blowing onto the heatsink, im not sure if thats right or not.

little help please
 
Yes thats right.

Did you apply any thermal paste to your CPU?

Is the HSF seated correctly ontop of the CPU?

Does your case have good airflow? (any case fans?)

Dust?

It is almost summer, temps will rise a bit. And you are OC'd so maybe thats why.

What are your temps if you run the 2500+ stock?
 
i did apply as3, but im not sure if it was enough, i put a paper thin layer on the chip and rubbed some onto the hsf

the hsf is properly on there

my case has so-so airflow, i have one fan in the back blowing out

no dust

i realize that summer is near, considering i live in vegas how could i forget

i cannot run this chip at stock cause my mobo only goes down to 1.575v instead of 1.45

anyways itll run @ ~35c if i set it up right, but thats slow and it sux :)
 
Look at my sig. I have nearly the same CPU setup as you but I am running a vantec AeroFlow HSF. Its and old design but quite efficient. My temps go sky high like yours the second I put the side back on my case. I leave the side of my case just leaning against the tower to deflect the noise and still let lots of air in and my temps have dropped to 40C idle and 47C load. Its really sweet now. I am running the same voltage as you BTW.
Go ahead and try leaving the side off of your case for an hour and see what the temps do. Use motherboard monitor to see your temps in windows. Let me know if that helps. I am pretty sure that it will. If it helps but you want to keep the side panel on then you will need to consider ducting the CPU. I can help you out with that. Just let us know.
