Am I crazy or will this work?

So I have been thinking about upgrading my Ggraphics card. Currently I have an Nvidia 8800 gts on this http://us.msi.com/product/mb/NF750-G55.html board. From what I have read this http://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GV-N670OC-2GD-GeForce-Windforce-Graphics/dp/B0080I06WQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1345498926&sr=1-1&keywords=gigabyte+windforce+670 card is what I would like to go to. From what I understand the PCI-e3 is backwards compatible, so i am thinking I am ok but wanted to check with someone else before I buy.

Should I go with this card or can you suggest something better?

yes pci-e 3.0 is backwards compatible... no card at this moment can take advantage of its capabilities yet
