I just put a PNY GTX 470 in my I7 Dell,I had been running a GTX 285.

It is a I7-920 at stock speed,and Windows 7 64 bit.

Am I CPU limited now?
I run at 1920X1200 and plan to go to 2560x1600 in the spring.

Thank You

Regardless, there is really no reason not to overclock that CPU as it is fairly easy (sometimes free, as in, no bump in voltages) and will noticibly improve your performance

Dell might not allow OC'ing in their bios.

In practical use, even a stock q6600 is still not much, if any, of a bottleneck for single gpu setups at high resolutions and settings in most games, let alone an I7 920.

well, i 99% of the time I play City Of Heroes,in fact I just got my 72 month subscription Badge.COH does not support SLI or CF so that will not be a factor also I have a dell studio 435 and it only has 1 slot for video card.only time i ever did SLI was back in the geforce 2 days.

Thank You for your replies

The i7 920 has plenty of juice left. If you plan to go 2560x1600 then bottlenecking will be less of an issue.

The CPU isn't in my opinion and nor is the Video Card. I'd look into something else for troubleshooting.

Playing what is the question. The FFXIV beta for example can bottle neck a 4Ghz Core Duo to under sub 10 FPS in crowded areas.
