Hey guys, im ordering an A64 3200 939 soon, along with a 939 motherboard ( dont know which one yet...they all look like **** ) Anyways, as of now, im on a 2.6C @ 3.25ghz ( 250 fsb;1ghz effective ) and I was wondering if a A64 would be a worthy upgrade? I still plan on keeping my ram ( 4x256mb ddr500 ) and the only reason i wont go s754 is because it only supports 3 ram slots, while 939 supports 4. Otherwise I would go with 754. But is my 2.6 @ 3.25 a bottleneck for my 6800GT? I still get mad slow downs in UT2k4 ( ONS maps ) and I really hate to see a 400$ card go to waste.

it could be a bottleneck i don't know by how much. If you do go with a 939 you will see bigger gains in the fps by how much its hard to say. you'll definately be able to run doom 3 on high though with that card and the 939.

Just something to consider with 754 vs. 939. It would probably be cheaper to go the 754 route and get some new ram, than just a 939 board and chip.

Not really because the A64 3200 ( 939 ) is only 220$ and the motherboard is 130...while the 754 3200 is 200$ and the motherboard would be about 110-120$...
