I've been looking around, but I can't find anywhere where I can buy reletivley cheap sheet aluminum in quantities <500lbs :)

Wish the search funtion wasnt disabled, I *know* this has been answered before, I jsut can't remember the company :(

If it's in SE michigan, near detroit, all the better, wont have to pay for shipping.

Thanks in advance :)

I would look at Home Depot first, then at the local trailer supply shop... I'm almost sure the latter would have it.

As a last resort, you can try any place that sells parts to service and construct campers/RV's or even a big boat parts place.

Skip the online vendors because they're prohibitively expensive. If you're in a big city, chances are good that there are aluminum scrap yards or surplus metal yards. Even in my modest hometown of Minneapolis, there are several dealers with a variety of stock and reasonable prices.

The local scrap/recycling places near me also have large amounts for low prices. You might check local machine shops as well. They usually have small pieces that you can get cut or bent to whatever size or shape you need for a pretty reasonable price. At least if you can find the right shop.

I work at a a sign shop, and we buy aluminum all the time.. We throw away quite a bit.. I would check with some sign companies around you and ask them if they have any scrap.. At least you can ask who their supplier is..

if you do find one in S.E. Michigan.. please lemme know.. i'd be really intrested in that..

Oh man.......

place I get mine:

Swan Island Sheet Metal

They will cut the aluminum for you and its only $2.50/lb
