I am considering purchasing a Koolance 360 sized radiator. It is made out of aluminum and I am going to be using silver blocks in the loop. What is the affinity for corrosion in this setup. I of course would be using a strong corrosion inhibitor.

I have had aluminum in my loop before, but it has always been hard anodized. I suspect that the Koolance radiator does not have such protection on it. Another thing is that I believe the Innovatek radiators are also made of aluminum so I would like to hear from those people as well.

Check the tubing on the Koolance, as I believe they are now made with copper. The last time I looked at one, only the fins were aluminum and they never contact the water so you would have no corrosion at all.

Why would you even consider this rad and worry about possible corrosion issues instead of just ordering say... Swiftech? They're copper so you wouldn't have to risk $80.

Actually I already have a BI 360, but I think it is going to be a pain to get it into the Koolance fan shroud I got.

What I want to know is how silver reacts with aluminum since they are both dissimilar metals. It is my limited understanding that silver has much less potential for corrosion than copper. So I want to know whether I am making an informed decision or that I am totally screwed from day one.

Is that graph showing direct contact of Cu to various metals? How much does this change when we are talking about using coolant as the electrolyte. What is the factor for distance between materials?
