Aluminum Radiators

I've heard way to much horrible shit about them to make me even think about buying their equipment, though others may disagree.
 
Eh, I don't doubt it. Although the testing methods are a bit... weird to say the least (85c inlet temperature?) it makes sense theoretically.

Brass is a horrible conductor of heat... Roughly half that of aluminum. I'd use an all aluminum radiator if they were made in the form-factor of the BIP series.

Now, an all copper radiator would be the best of all worlds... I don't know why they don't exist yet.

But, the real issue is situational-relevence... Sure, an aluminum radiator cools better than a brass/copper radiator... But with WC loop water temperature deltas (over air) of roughly 10c (rather than 85-25 = 60c)... How much difference is an aluminum radiator REALLY going to make? What... now the delta is 7.5c rather than 10c? At 85c inlet temperature these gains might make sense... at a 30c inlet temperature they lose importance quickly.
 
Lets just say after about 14 pages of discussion at XS

They came to a conclusion that states that if you have that radiator in your case with fans capable of blowing 700 CFM of air through it, and the water temperature is 80°C, THEN it would be valid

But since you won't have a 700CFM fan, and your water won't be anywhere near that temperature, then the tests are invalid for your PC, and thusly the PA120.3 is still the best radiator you can get.
 
What would be interesting is someone in real life trying one of those and post comparisons. They look like they might be pretty good.

Brass radiators actually do use all-copper fins. The impact of the brass used in the very thin tube-wall is exceedingly minor. All aluminium radiators do start to gain more of an advantage over brass/copper radiators at typical car driving air-flow speeds, which are one or two orders of magnitude higher than in a PC water-cooling application.
 
Aluminum corrodes faster than brass, and aluminum oxides do not conduct heat well. corroded brass still conducts some heat.
