Seeing as how the trend now is to make Aluminum cases, why don't they make matching Aluminum CDROM and Floppy drives...

They have one in the Powermac G5.

That way we wouldn't have to buy bezels that fit over the top, or try to modify and stealth the drives using the spare drive covers.

Take a look at how many cases there are out there that are Aluminum... the Lian-Li, Coolermaster Praetorian and Wavemasters... ect.

So why don't they do this? All you can get is black and beige. Nobody uses beige anymore anyway. I want an Aluminum face CD-ROM!

Nobody really uses floppy drives on a regular basis anymore either, except perhaps for BIOS flashing :p
Anyway, my take on it is that the covers you can get from the case manufacturer will always be better because they are guarenteed to match that particular shade and style. Generic aluminum probably wouldn't match any better than silver. Also, think about how much it would cost for them to retool to make metal bezels instead of just plastic, not to mention the cost of the materials themselves
