I have a PC 2 WD HDDs I want to error scan. WD Lifeguard is a worthless piece of shit, always hanging and looking for some license file on a floppy drive that doesn't exist (known issue), so I need an alternative.

I tried some diagnostic disks from other manufacturers, but they refuse to scan third party disks.

What is the best dos based diagnostic tool?

I use SystemRescueCD, it's got a pretty good collection of, well pretty much everything you'd need and a bunch more.
