Looking for programs that work with iPODs besides iTunes, either the program works with iPODs vanilla or requires a plug-in.
Any recommendations?

Songbird supposedly works as well
http://www.getsongbird.com/
It's FOSS and has a plugin architecture that is pretty cool. I don't use it for my ipod myself but I hear it works well. I do use it to manage my media library on my desktop (my ipod syncs with my laptop)

I haven't had a problem using songbird, winamp, or sharepod.

Important to specify WHICH iPod you have. iPod Touch the only 3rd party app that I know that can sync to without Jail Breaking the iPod is Media Monkey.
