about the 32bit thing via is doing
would that actually give us better sound quality?

This is used for MP3/Gaming... its an HTPC in a midtower (lain-li pc65) so heat and size arent an issue. I just dont need recording studio quality but I would like home theatre quality....

HTPC, eh? Well, the dodgy bass management of the Audigy drivers would tend to advise against those.

well it seems to me that creative has taken to only serving those who use tin can speakers that cut off at 125 cycles and use a sub woofer as the only bass reproduction.... That looks to be the only setup the card is designed for. I was looking for a company who relizes that some of us actually like clean audio and use the sub for <40 only to give a feel to the bass that the speakers produce..... Audigys cant do this..... I just want a card which alows the speakers to do what they do best... audible bass and the velodyne to do what it does best, the resonate frequency of your heart to stop you dead.....

Well, the poll results are clear, but the discussion points out some of the alternatives. It was intented as a response to the invitation for other suggestions. Heck, just trolling that forum will net you suggestions ranging from the Chaintech AV-710 to that $300+ RME card.

I know I was just messin with J00. :)
It's to bad the color scheme on that forum hurts my head......
