Whats a good alternative to Adobe Acrobat for viewing PDF's? I heard Foxit Reader is good. Is this true? Thanks.

Is it just me or does it really take Acrobat at least a full minute to open up no matter how fast the system is? I am definietly downloading Foxit!

Another recommendation for FoxIt, it's fast, low memory usage and works great. My only complaint is the search feature isn't as good as the one in Adobe.

Wow, Foxit Reader is nice. I am glad I found this thread. I read very large PDF's quite frequently and hate how bloated Adobe Acrobat is.

The only problem I've ever had with FoxIt is that the USPS site required me to install Acrobat 7 to properly print shipping labels.

Other than that, no qualms.

Foxit reader is awesome. It opens PDF files as fast as notepad opens text files. You don't have to wait 20 minutes for Adobe Acrobat to launch... ;)
Jesus Christ you're right!. That's fast :)

Acrobat takes no more than 5 seconds to load on my system.

If I want it even faster than that, and the file is online, I'll just use the "Open As HTML" option through the PDF Download FF extension.

Yeah but that takes FOREVER :)

Also foxit is a stand alone .exe file (executable). Simply put the .exe in a mydoc directory or something similar were it wont get deleted, and direct your browser at that location/directory to launch .pdf files.

I'll have to try out foxit... I've always hated how long Acrobat Reader took to load.
