Alternative Backup Software

So I need suggestions of alternative backup software.

Currently, the server is a beefy PC that runs Win2k3 Server in a dental office. They have a Travan tape drive. For some reason, the built in Windows Backup WILL NOT work with the drive. I temporarily set them up with a trial of BackUp Exec and it works.

Now, cost for a small office is an issue and BackUp Exec is pricey. Also, this office has no special requirements. No Exchange, no SQL, no Remote Agents, etc. Just back up files on one server to a tape drive on the same server.

Has anyone used any Tape-Backup software besides the big suites that does this? The less expensive the better.
