Alternate power/HDD activity LEDS?

I'm working on modifying a Silverstone LC17 (black version), primarily for lighting (this is for my girlfriend, so I'm working to her design aesthetic, not my own...). Everything's going to be red, so the blue power and hard drive LEDs on the front, while not *that* big of a deal, are a detail that'll clash with the rest, as is. This is the one bit that I'm wondering how I should proceed on, as it's not something I've really tried before. Are there kits out there for this (haven't found any in the bit of looking I've done)? Am I going to need to just pick up a pair of LEDs from Radioshack or Fry's and solder them in? I'm not really worried about difficulty or anything--rather, just wondering if anyone has done this and what is most effective/efficient.
