altec 621 -> klipsch pm 2.1

I have an old pair of Altec 621's. What are your thoughts on upgrading to the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1? (sound card is an audigy 2 platinum)
Nothing wrong with the Altecs but it's my birthday and I have some money to spend. Since I'm somewhat of an audiophile I would settle for even a modest jump in quality over the Altecs.
If anyone has any experience with both speaker sets your insight would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise feel free to tell me how great, or not, the Klipsch are.

actually when i bought my previous set of speakers, i opted for the altecs over the klipsch since the altecs seemed to have considerably smoother satellites. keep in mid this was 2 years ago so i dont know if klipsch has changed the pm 2.1 satellites at all. klipsch sub is better though.

i remember the 621's. damn they were a monster in their time. but modern day altecs and the pm2.1 will sound slightly better than the 621's. its up to you if you think the upgrade is worth the cost. personally, if the system is still good, i would just save the money. as old as the 621's are, it is still very formidable. (sp)?

i personally own two sets of the 641s.... damn good speakers not 5.1 though so thats why i began to look elsewhere.

They are in the shed for a reason.

your 641s hiss? mine never have. oh BTW i got both of my sets brand new for $110. i think the reason why they stopped making them was that they werent making a penny of profit on them
