Alt Clicking Applications

Hey guys. A friend of mine is having this weird problem where some programs always think that she is alt clicking, even when she isn't touching anything. The problem started after she spilled milk on her keyboard and she mashed all of the keys with a rag to dry them up. Since then, all of the programs that she had open (Chrome, Pidgin, Open Office, and Winamp) have been having this weird problem. I thought it was a setting that she accidentally changed, so we uninstalled and reinstalled the programs, but the problems persisted. Then we uninstalled the programs, ran CCleaner to fix the registry entries for those programs, no dice. Then we formatted and reinstalled Vista, but still the problems are hanging around. I am out of thoughts on how to fix this, and I'm asking for your help. Thanks in advance.

System Specs (I don't really know what is necessary, if you guys need more, just ask and I'll be happy to post.)

Toshiba Satellite L305-S5865
Intel Pentium Dual Cpu T2390 @ 1.86 Ghz
2038MB Ram

Again, any help is greatly appreciated.

I think the first thing I would have tried was a different keyboard... she probably broke the ALT key either by trying to clean it or spilling liquids on it.

Not sure what kind of keyboard it is, but the key should pop off. Probably some gunk stuck in the scissor mechanism or whatever is used.

It's not like the keyboard will be any more fubar if you can't clean it or snap the key back on.

Sorry, I probably should have said this sooner. It's a laptop, and none of the keys work. I disabled it in the device manager and we are now using an external keyboard, but the problem is still lingering.

We were using the trackpad for a while, but we switched to an external mouse and i disabled the trackpad in device manager. Still no luck.
